Singapore - Indonesian-style pancakes (Martabak Manis) ay MidPoint Orchard

After years of having to wait till I go to Jakarta or Surabaya before I can grab hold of some yummy Indonesian "martabak manis", I finally found a place in Singapore which serves freshly made-to-order pancakes at J Cafe at MidPoint Orchard, Orchard Road (the "J" stands for Jakarta here)

I chose the classic glutton's choice - a thick fat pancake filled with the works: chocolate sprinkles, crushed peanuts, cheese, sweetened condensed milk and lots of Dutch butter. The pancake was pillowy-soft, and decadently sweet & rich, with crispy edges. Almost as good as any Terang Bulan pancakes as you'd likely be able to find in Indonesia.

Besides its range of martabak manis, J Cafe also serves a mean bowl of "bakmie ayam" (chicken noodles) which I found totally addictive. The egg noodles were freshly made & has a nice, soft texture. It comes with a bowl of "bakso" (minced beef balls).
