Simple Sandwich at Bottegga Fiorentina

Sometimes simple is the best....I'm not a big Bottegga Fiorentina fan, it's decent pasta at a decent prices, but that's about it....They do a few special cooked meals a day, tho, and have mashed potatoes on Thursdays, which I was craving a few weeks ago while hung-over (imagine!)..They were out of the spuds that day, but my attention was caught by some caprese panini, on foccacia...I decided that would work....

"Grilled?", they asked...

Well, that changed *everything*. Their foccaccia, usually a little oily for my taste, turned into a crispy crust with a hint of EVOO fruitiness and rosemary when it was pressed. The fresh buffalo mozz melted, the tomatoes grew more flavorful, and the basil more aromatic...I was gonnah eat half, but that didn't last long...

Today, I gave in and had another. I'm pleased to report, it's just as good when you're NOT hungover, and it's a damned tasty lunch for $4.50....No, don't drive to Brookline Village, but if you're in the nabe....The taste just keeps making me smile.
