Silverlake Wine Store -- Grand Opening

DanaB | Apr 23, 2004 02:14 PM

Hi all -- just wanted to give you all a head's up that the Silverlake Wine Store is having it's formal "grand opening" party this Sunday from 11 - 8. Food will be served, from Campanile, AOC and the new vietnamese place across the street (Gingergrass), among others. I've linked their webpage, with address, below.

Last weekend we went to the Northern Italian wine tasting, and it was fun and informative. Had a really nice prosecco, as well as two unique whites and two reds (unfortunately I don't remember the labels). The wine was accompanied by a delicious selection of northern Italian dishes, including a white bean and tuna crostini; an herb and egg dish, similar to a spanish tortilla; prociutto and asparagus; and a red cabbage dish, served warm with bread. Price was $20 per person, reservations required. They do tastings every Sunday.

So far I've had really friendly service, and been pleased with the selection and recommendations, when I've visited this store. I think it is a welcome addition to the neighborhood!
