I am looking for a place to stay in Paris. I am researching all the great info on this board. I plan to get an apartment and have meals in, augmented with grazing about, and highlighted with about 4-5 proper meals out per week, lunch or dinner. No fine dining for me this time, I just want good soul food. Although I realize Paris now is an amalgam of many cultures, I want to experience very good French food, multiple times. In two weeks time. With reasonable prices.
This is hard to quantify, because if I am extra hungry one day, I may get the menu, and stick to plats the next meal out.
After reading through sooooo many threads, I'm thinking I will try to find a flat reasonably close to Au Dernier Metro(sp?) because after reading the recommendations and the online menu, I want to try much, much more than I can possibly do in one or even two or three meals. I'm traveling blissfully alone, this time...nice for everything except sharing plates!
How does this strike you 'hounds? Two weeks is not much, when faced with the bounty of Paris. I am taking advice from the board and keeping a list of recommended places with me as I plot my other destinations (I mean besides markets!) so it is not as if I am saying that I will only eat at one place for two weeks.
But, if I find a flat close to this recommended spot that has intrigued me, and if they get to know me and my earnest but horrific French and earnest and honest love for food...might that not be a great food experience?
