had dinner here last night. cute in concept. groovy place w/ a nice atmosphere. excellent drink menu with competent and friendly bartenders.
.but i only give it a good.
for starters, several of the staff raved about the pumpkin raviloi. it was delicious, but the sauce underneath was extraordinarly salty. the foie gras and duck confit terrine was wonderful and smooth, but should have been served with it's own bread or crackers, rather than what we had in a small basket on the table. the rabbit reminded us of salty, chewier scallops. the duck was good, but less exciting than i had hoped. the portions were great though. not too big or small. our server was quite good too.
while the gimmick here is the rivalry is between the two brothers....chef bob apparenty has two other restaurants out of state, we were told that he's only in the kitchen here two weekends a month. right off the bat, you're a little disappointed only one brother is in the kitchen.... particularly since they play off the rivalry theme.
that's my two cents.
