Shoulder roast vs chuck roast? Help!

Chandler114 | Sep 28, 201704:34 PM     5

So I don't know much about red meat. I love it, but it's expensive! My boyfriend recently bought a bunch of red meat on sale: roasts, steaks etc. I want to cook them but I don't know the difference in the cuts or what to do with them and google has just made it more confusing. I wanted to make one of the roasts but i need help.

According to the label he bought a "3 lb angus shoulder roast" and a "3 lb boneless chuck pot roast". Are they the same thing? What are they good for? How do I cook them? Last time I tried to make red meat (sirloin tip steak and I still don't know what that is but that's another post) it ended up tough and dry. Help. Me. Please.
