Shogun's Sushi, West Newton

Ok, so last week I said I'd post if I went to Shogun in West Newton; I did and I'm finally posting.

I got to the restaurant and it was empty aside from one family. I told the waitress that I just wanted to get something to take-out, and she got me a menu. She was really, very nice and hospitable. Told me to have a seat at the sushi bar while I decided.

I took a look at the menu and couldn't decide between all of the different types of sushi. Since I'm a novice sushi eater, I have no clue what's in most of the types. I chose the spicy salmon rolls and shrimp nigri (I think...the one where the shrimp sits on a bed of rice...)

Anyway, I watched as the sushi chef rolled my sushi. It was pretty cool. The actual look of the sushi wasn't as pretty as some other sushi I'd had, but it was very full of salmon and cucumber and very tasty. The shrimp sushi was pretty good though I thought the shrimp was a bit dried out.

My sushi cost less than $10 and I was very full afterwards. I'll definitely go back since it's right down the street and the people were so nice.
