Had lunch at Shiki for the first time. My DC and I shared the Kiku, which came with an appetizer (salad and Miso soup), sashimi (Yellowtail, Tuna, Salmon), tidbits, broiled, sauced fried and steamed dish. It was an excellent dish. We also shared and enjoyed the Nabeyaki Udon noodle dish. It came with fried shrimp, chicken, egg and vegetables. This was my favorite dish. We left stuffed and satisfied. It's in the neighborhood, so I plan to go back.
For dinner we went to Vee Vee in JP. For our appetizer we shared the Oysters which tasted fresh. My DC enjoyed the quinoa pancakes, with spaghetti squash, escarole, spicy somarillo sauce. Although she liked it, she felt it had a little too much dill on it. I had the cod with latkes cakes and a spicy apple sauce. It was light and clean. Good, but not great. We liked Vee Vee but I am not sure it's worth the drive from Coolidge Corner.
Overall, a good Saturday:)
