shelf-life for korean pastes

I've had two items in my fridge for well over a year: Korean fermented soybean paste (it's like a rust-colored miso with chunks of soybean), and Korean hot red pepper paste. Both smell and taste fine. Do they keep indefinitely? Thanks.
