Shanghai Delight, Milpitas Grand Opening, good xlb

Went here for lunch Wed 7/12/06 after noticing there's a huge Grand Opening sign out front-deciding to give it a try. Waiter said they've only been open since June 2006.

They have a huge menu, but we only got 3 dishes. Lunch specials we got: fish filet is sauteed in a spicy red sauce w/ tons of green bell peppers and white onions. Not a huge amount of fish filet but decent. $6.95. Comes w/ soup and white rice.

Also got a curry chicken lunch special. Lots of tender chicken filet w/ tons of green bell peppers, white onions, some carrots. Not enough sauce for me. Decent-comes w/ soup and white rice.

We ordered dumplings not sure what they were but happy to find they are xlb (xiao long baos) and they are Good! 8 good size dumplings w/ pork only inside, thin wrapper. Lots of juice in them that are just tasty! Recommended.

I saw other tables get noodle soup dishes, and another table got lions head in a claypot. They also have Shanghai chicken, small dishes, Shanghai noodle, family dishes, restaurant seafood.

I'd love to come back to check out more of their dishes, a co-worker told me to try the Shanghai wontons. Get there early on weekdays because when we left at 11:50am it was packed. They have about 17 tables-4 of them are round tables, rest are 2-4 seat tables.

CASH ONLY! No take-out menu yet. Waiter said they open at 10:30am.
No fortune cookie given out either.
