Shanghai 1: Another Soup Dumplings (XLB) Restaurant in Philly Chinatown

Chemicalkinetics | Dec 4, 201411:46 PM     17

Over last weekend, another new restaurant has opened up. I believe it is called "Shanghai1" or "ShanghaiOne". It resides where the old Magic Tea was. It claims to specialize Shanghai cuisine and Taiwan cuisine. I looked at the menu and indeed it has many Shanghai and Taiwan food. It also has a few Sichuan/Szechuan dishes as well.

I only ordered a dish of steamed crab meat soup dumplings. They were slightly different than those from Dim Sum Garden, but they were not bad at all. In fact, they may really give Dim Sum Garden a run of the money. Other dishes on the menu also look very interesting and attractive. However, I see this restaurant has the problem of advertisement. It does not drum up any hype. It just kind of assume people will find out. It may be true. Afterall, it is located the 10th Street. Good news was that there were people there beside me. I think there were about 4 tables worth of people.

Give their soup dumplings a try.
