Finally made it to the Shake Shack last night on chowhounder's recommendations & listened to Sharon Jones performing as I waited in line. The food did not disappoint -- great crinkle-cut fries, decadent portabella sandwich, heavenly in the heat root beer float.
But what's with the food delivery system? It was probably more crowded than usual -- but it took us almost an hour from ordering to receive our food. And the scene is so chaotic & sort of sad & festive at the same time, with everyone clustered around the food window: "What name did she say? What number are they on? Is my food ready yet?"
I'm curious why they don't flash the order numbers/names up on a screen or something, so everyone can relax until their food is ready. Would that be less fun?
