Shades of the past

My firm held it's employee Christmas party at the Smokehouse in Toluca Lake. I was pleasantly surprised with the wait staff and the quality of the food. A table of 15 each order different dishes can normally pose a problem but they handled the situation well. I ordered the Flat Iron Steak, a top sirloin, rare and it came out rare and quite good. The signature garlic bread is as good as ever. Open bar for the staff, some had appetizers some did not, everyo9ne had a main course, several desserts, tax and tip came out to $40.00 per person. I want to go back and try it again. The party seated across from me ordered a full order of the baby back ribs and although he looked like he could handle it, the order was simply too large and I was thanked for the leftovers. He also said the ribs were delicious.
