SF - Ritual Porter at City Beer

osho | May 19, 201010:47 AM     3

I have been meaning to write about my favourite beer enthusiast destination for the longest time.

What better way to begin than to write about this amazing blend of Ritual coffee and Speakeasy in HP.

I was seated right next to the temporary Ritual coffee brewing station, so I had a double punch of coffee aroma. A lot of the crowd were clearly Ritual regulars, and I suppose one would refer to me as a City Beer regular :)

Two options were available that evening. The first was a nice size pour of the special porter. Subtle coffee flavor – I think they said it was a blend from Africa. Apparently, they tried many coffees and finally chose this one.

The second was a tasting of two kinds of porters (including the coffee) and a little beaker of the coffee (served black) used to create the porter.

The porter was excellent – nice finish, and the coffee taste was not overpowering like some other coffee porters I have had in the past. I recall one from Kona, if I am not mistaken.
