SF Italian

I know it's early, but I figured I'd get some planning done. I am planning to go to an afternoon Giants game in early April and my parents would like to meet me and my boyfriend after the game and go for Italian in the city.

Having been out of the SF dining loop for some years now (b/c of stints in LA and now NY), I have no suggestions to offer up. And my parents don't leave their east bay enclave enough to know any neighborhood gems. Their suggestions have all been well known, destination places that don't quite fit the bill.

So the question is, where could we go for great Italian food after the Giants' game? They would need to be open early, and not be too upscale as it's likely we'll not be dressed accordingly after watching baseball for a few hours in the sun.

Neighborhood is not a concern as we wil be in a car, but availability of parking might be. Cost is not a concern, although it would be good to keep it at under 200 for 4 people with wine and the like. Great wine selection would be a plus. And a cozy, neighborhood environment would make things even better.

My first instinct was to find a little place in North Beach, but is this still the italian hotbead it once was?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions you can throw out there.
