I'll be spending my honeymoon in British Columbia this June, with three dinners (Sun, Mon, Tues) and three lunches (Mon, Tues, Wed) in Vancouver. I know it's not nearly enough time to experience your food scene, so I'm trying to get just a taste of the greatness. Here's my current list. All feedback is welcome.
Vij's - I love Indian food, and we have nothing like this in SF.
Octopus's Garden - Am I crazy to pick this over Tojo's? I've read so many negative reviews of Tojo's, whereas Octopus's Garden seems like the spot where the locals go for great sushi. I also am drawn to the more modern/fusiony aspects of the menu. Thoughts?
Bin 941/942 - Can someone please explain the difference between these two spots? I get the impression that 941 is a bit more contemporary and 942 is a bit more classic. Is that accurate?
Can anyone give me an impression of what waits at Vij's and Bin will be like on a weeknight? Must I show up at opening to avoid a wait?
Go Fish! - I'll be checking out fish shacks all over BC. This seems to be the best one in Vancouver, correct?
Aurora Bistro - Deciding between this and Nu, but Aurora's simple menu and lighter fare calls out to me. Thoughts?
Salt Tasting Room - I heart charcuterie.
Thanks in advance for your guidance.
