I thought I'd see tons of you Chowhounds taking avantage of the $29.95 dinners offered at SF's finest eating establishments. So far, I've only seen a couple of reviews (Fringale, One Market).
Well, I'm gonna go to Hawthorne Lane this week since I've never been there before. If I can get a couple more friends, I might try another upscale place this weekend.
What places are great experiences but rarely get any praise? I was looking at the 2002 Zagat survey and 2 hotel restaurants garnered excellent reviews but questioned why nobody eats there. That would be Silks in the Mandarin Oriental Hotel and Pacific in the Pan Pacific Hotel. The Terrace at Ritz Carlton also got favorable comments. So perhaps I'll try one of these places since the regular menu prices are out of my price range.
Any of you try some of the other restaurants on the Dine About Town list?
