We just got a Zojirushi neuro fuzzy 5.5 c rice cooker and tried it out with a long-grain brown rice medley from Trader Joe's. We don't have much experience with brown rice, so I'm not as familiar with the nuances of cooking time and quantity, let alone in a rice cooker. Plus this one is new and we're still getting used to it. I did it on the brown rice setting with the water to the corresponding fill line. It was totally overcooked and mushy by the end. Should I be using the long-grain white rice setting instead? And how much water should I use? Any input would be appreciated.
