Settimana Cafe

Ian Alexander | Aug 9, 2004 06:52 PM

Had dinner sat night at Settimana. Excellent.
Arrived for a 9 res at 8:45 so we could get a table outside. The inside of the rest is too hot in the summer. The hostess rec'd we arrive early to guarantee a table outside, which is a fist come proposition. We were seated at a prime outside table by 9:10.

Portobello mushrooms. Fabulous
Calamari. Grilled, also fabulous, although the portion was small. The calamari was marinated in a very tasty garlick and oil combo
Beef Carpacio - also terrific and a large portion

Penne with sausage, peas and tomato cream. to me the gold standard of this dish is from coco pazzo. This is a close second, huge portion

Penne with above and goat cheese - equally good.

Marlin - prepared grilled with peppers, celery, garlic, etc. Great

Chocolate Souffle, skip this it was like a chocolate cake, no oozing chocolate in the middle

Bannana-Chocolate Chip cake - great

Took a stroll down division after dinner, it is amazing what 2 years can do to a neighborhood. Great night out with a couple in from the 'burbs
