We recently got take-out from Sesame, a small, unassuming Chinese take-out place near our place in Teele Sq. I believe the ownership has changed hands because the menu is markedly different from a few years ago, when we first moved into the 'hood. (I think I read somewhere on this board that the daughter of Wang's owners had taken it over.)
In any case, generally, we've been very pleased with our choices. Our last trip included sauteed fish with veggies and black bean yu-hshiang chili sauce (good, though the fish was slightly overcooked); twice-cooked chicken (just okay..my DC wished it had more veggies and the hoisin-style sauce needed to be thicker...we added veggies to the leftovers and it was a big improvement); and veggie dumplings (definitely made by hand; good). On other visits, we have tried the baby bok-choy with black mushrooms (one of my favorite dishes there; with a light sauce) and chili beef (my DC really liked this dish; even I, the veggie, was tempted to try). Anyway, it's certainly not a destination spot, but I thought I'd bring it to the attention of my fellow Somervillians. We are definitely on planning to try more off the menu. There are some interesting-sounding dishes, such under the category of "Hometown Special."
