Little Sesame in DC - Report

Steve | Aug 18, 201903:04 PM     9

Litlte Sesame is a new (ish) counter-service spot focusing on serving the downtown lunch crowd with bowls of hummus. There are locations at 18th and L, NW and also Chinatown.

The hummus is of the creamy variety. The bowl I chose, #2 Summer Greens, was a masterful synergy of flavors. I am not going to make any claims about how great the hummus is, but it's at least darn good. What really makes this stand out is the combination of mint pesto, aleppo chili oil & almond gremolata. I also added the topping of a 7-minute egg (soft yolk) which provided a nice touch.

It's the kind of place designed to rein in passers-by, but I think you'll find it rewarding even if you make a special trip.
