Soooo, I'm roasting a duck and a bone-in leg of lamb on Christmas Day. Any suggestions about 1) methods of prep and 2) what to serve with are welcome. I was thinking of simply roasting the duck and grilling the leg of lamb after rubbing it w/s&p&garlic&rosemary. I also thought I might make some sort of chestnut stuffing, but I didn't want it to be too heavy given the heaviness of the duck and the lamb.
Green beans with almonds fit in there somewhere, as does a salad with cranberries.
And then dessert....Apple gingerbread upside down skillet cake? Poached pears w/creme anglaise?
What should I add? Omit?
