For my visit in March, I would like to add an ' Japanese/Italian ' meal to my itinerary.
With Japan's abundance and varied seafood selection and gorgeous meats and vegetables, I am seeking restaurants that utilize and cherish the freshness of the ingredients and let them do the 'talking'....hence simple, traditional, rustic approach over modern, psychedelic ones.
I recalled an amazingly delicious pasta dish I had during my last visit - simple local grown Cherry tomatoes, Hokkaido crab meat in a house made Pomodoro and Basil sauce ( restaurant sadly closed ). Even a humble Spaghetti con Vongole at a Trattoria like La Boheme tasted amazing ( unfortunately, this dish is no longer on their menu ).
My research has so far come up with very irregular and inconsistent reviews! A restaurant like ' La Bisboccia ', for example, received ratings from 1 out of 5 ( Must avoid ) to 5 out of 5!...one of the best Italian in town!!
Shall I just pick a Michelin star one from the Red Book?..eg., Aroma Fresca? and go with it?
