Seeking relatively new Michelin restaurants that could deliver unexpected surprising experience

Charles Yu | Nov 10, 201803:21 PM     11

Last year, a fellow chowhounder ( whose name I sadly forgot ) recommended to me the 1* 'Le Sputnik' in Midtown Tokyo. The resulting meal at this relatively new establishment was most enjoyable and a surprising revelation. For the number of courses and the high quality ingredients offered, price point was exceptionally great value.

Fast forward to this year. For my up coming trip, I am once again looking for a few similar establishments to augment the other well established, multiple star places on my itinerary. The latter will include Quintessence, L'Effervescence and Sugalobo.

Based on my limited research, a couple of potential candidates include ' Abysse ' and ' Sublime '. Has any fellow chowhounder been? Are they worth trying? Quality of food is of course priority #1!!

Thanks in advance!
