This was triggered by the Barbara's Fishtrap thread. Am in desperate need of great fried calamari and/or calamari steaks. Anywhere west of the bay is fine. I haven't had any luck in places where you'd think you should (e.g. HMB, Tiburon, Santa Cruz).
My personal "no thanks" list:
* Any place that serves frozen "calamari rings"
* Any dish that doesn't include at least 40% tentacles
* Any place that serves any "sauce" (especially marinara)on the calamari
