I will be visiting Scotland for the first time this summer. Some of that is tied to Glasgow for a work trip, but I have close to a week otherwise. Friends have convinced me that I at least need to visit Orkney and Skye. So I'm ditching Edinburgh this trip and have a tentative itinerary that is as follows:
Glasgow
Inverness
Orkney
Somewhere back in the Highlands (more Inverness?)
Skye
Glasgow

I'm not a whiskey drinker, but I would greatly appreciate any recommendations for where to eat and drink along the way, from pub fare to fine, local ingredient dining.
