Scotch or Bourbon

Well, I'm getting pretty close to which whisky that I really like.

I've been trying Scotch, Irish Whisky and Bourbon.

I'm on a limited budget, so the expensive brands are out. But These are the brands that I've come to really like.

Scotch - Johnny Walker, Grant's and White Horse
Irish Whisky - Jamison
Bourbon - Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare

I really like Buffalo Trace Distillery. But I have to admit, I like Scotch better then Bourbon.

... and I like both of them better then Irish Whisky. I haven't tried Red Breast yet, (I hear that is pretty darn good) but I have to admit that I just prefer Scotch, it's that simple.

I guess it has something to do with growing up with a father who was a cigar smoker.

I like a smoky scotch.

So... I taste tested Johnny Walker today Red today against White Horse and Grant's and well.... I have to admit it was slightly better... but, not enough for the price difference.

I simply love JW Black and Glenlivet and Glenfiddich. But as far as everyday drink'n Scotch, I have to go with Grant's and White Horse. They are very comparable to taste and finish and are a lot cheaper; they are also smooth and tasty.

So I am now making a decision, as far as my everyday drinking whisky, I have to go with Scotch over Bourbon, even though I'm an American, because I just like the smoothness and taste better.
