Don't go to Schwartz's on a Friday night. Over the years I have gotten smoked meat at different times of the day. The last time was a Friday night with the line going out the door and the place packed. Unfortunately with that crowd they abandoned hand-cutting the meat and instead pullled out the slicer, the result was not acceptable. The best time to go is late morning when the lunch crowds have yet to arrive and when they have time to do it properly.

They do consistently use the slicer for smoked meat to go, but normally they prefer the hand for sandwiches and platters.
