Scandinavian in Brooklyn

Lara + Schnipp | Oct 20, 2004 09:47 PM

We're looking for any signs of Scandinavian food in Brooklyn, largely to prove to a visiting Dane that it still exists. We know about the Danish Chruch in Brooklyn Heights, and know about the cafe at Scandinvaia House on Park Avenue in Manhattan.

But, we're interested in the county of Kings, where so many Swedes and Danes and Finns and Norwegians used to live.

1. Is Leshko's Bakery still in Bay Ridge? Where? We can't find a yellow pages listing.

2. Didn't we once read of one last remaining Scandinavian food shop still existant in Sunset Park? Does anyone remember this place, and can you provide a name and address and phone number?

Many thanks.
