Sawadee Thailand (Austin)

Anyone had a good meal at Sawadee Thailand? My wife and I tried it for the first time last night. A disappointment. We started off with the Thai Toast. It was a bit bland but still enjoyable enough. It turned out to be the high point of the meal. The Tom Yum Gai was more a stew than a soup. (Thai Tara does the best version of this that I've had in town.) The Pad Thai was a salty stir fry of noodles, vegetables and a little chicken. None of the subtle combination of fish sauce and tamarind was apparent. We also tried the Lard Nah with ground meat. It was advertised as having a curry flavor. Salty, heavy and bland. We left large portions of food on our plates, uninterested in to-go boxes. It would not have been worth to the wait to get them in any case. The restaurant got crowded, but it seems to operate with only one person taking orders. This became an annoying bottleneck to decent service.
