We've all seen Chinese menus that slaughter the simplest English words (e.g., pan fried rock god), but then there's the other extreme where they use high falutin words I never heard of, and which turn out to be used accurately and properly (e.g., water convulvus). Throw saporous (which flunks my spell check test) in that category. Saporous Grill is located in what was originally the home many years ago of Monterey Park BBQ, the only member of the Sam Woo chain not to have Sam Woo in its name, since there was already another branch of Sam Woo directly across the street. Subsequently, 639 W. Garvey was home to the strange string of double named restaurants, Chow Chow, Miao Miao and most recently Happy Happy. As far as Saporous Grill goes, it's a night time restaurant so I'm going to have to rely on the other hounds out there for details on the offerings there. It appears to be a cafe style with big screen TVs.
