Saporissimo in Boca- TERRIFIC!!!

andy | Mar 15, 200403:02 PM

I posted to see if anyone had been and I bit the bullet and tried it last nite...

FABULOUS is the only way to describe the food..

We arrived around 7[m ( they do take reservations) and had a table in the back room..

The chef, owner ,husband and all waitstaff are ITALIAN, as if FROM ITALY- complete with all the wonderful accents...

ALL PASTA is homemade daily-- ravioli stuffed with exotic meats, gnocchui, black squid ink pasta, just oo many to mention....

The HOUSE salad is HUGE and enough for 2 people to share..and has neat things thrown in-like anise and some other strange greens that give it a terrific taste..

For main courses, one friend had spahetti carbonara and she said it was wonderful!!

My sis and I both had Salmon with truffle oil and limoncello sauce--delicious!! Mine came with a side of tagliatella pasta with roasted garlic and olive oil and my sis got spinach au gratin as her veggie...
The pasta was TO DIE FOR!! Perfect!!

The bread was hot and great and there were also these wonderful bread sticks from Milan...

2 unusual fish are flown in daily from Italy and Spain-but you have to purchase the whole fish ( and noone else as our table wanted to try it==$44-so I passed on that).

They have a pasta tasting menu for $22 pp that gives you five different pastas and sauces..but everyone at the table needs to order it..

Portions are huge..The fish (even though I ate it all) was enough for 2 meals ==as was the side of pasta that came with it....

For dessert, we all shared one piece of HOMEMADE tiramisu..scrumptious....

Dinner for 3 was $80 plus tip...a little high, but definitely worth a 2nd trip to try more of the menu...

GO WITH at least 6 people and SHARE the dishes!!

ONLY NEGATIVE--service was sooooooooooooooooooo slow- and we had to ask for everything..but since we were talking among ourselves, it wasn't a major nightmare..

After dinner, the owner came by and gave us each a glass of limoncello- that wonderful after=dinner Italian liquor...

It is on Palmetto Park Rd between Federal Hwy and A1A next to the Tin Muffin..there is parking in the rear..
