Santa Barbara Follow-Up

Just want to let you know how the food in Santa Barbara was...the best meal was at a small Italian place "Ca'Dario", the most disappointing meal was at Trattoria Mollies, the best homemade gelato was at Via Maestro(deli) on upper State St.,and the most fun & good food was at La Super Rica!!(the worst food was a quick lunch(convenient) at Enterprise Fish Co., next to the train station.) We stayed at a little Inn in Montecito and walked to Mollies. It was expensive, we waited for a table for quite awhile, the service was terrible, the caesar salad was just plain lettuce without flavor, the veal piccata was tough and stringy, the steak without flavor and the shrimp scampi boring! On the other hand Ca Dario was delightful! The nicest, most attentive staff, pouring us wine while we waited for our late reso table (it was ok!), moderately priced, warm atmosphere, incredible rack of lamb with outstanding fresh herb seasoning, delicious roasted potatoes and beets, huge! ribeye steak (almost 2 lbs!) perectly seasoned, unbelievable tuscan beans, fine coffee w/ cream &
special desserts with chantilly cream with little meringue cookies to end the night...! It was well worth the wait! La Super Rica was so fun- we enjoyed trying so many interesting Mexican dishes on their enclosed patio drinking a beer! Delicious homemade white corn tortilas, special tamales with corn, zucchini, chayote,& potato, just right guacomole, incredible spicy pasilla chiles, grilled onion, and cheese, a marinated pork quesadila and steak tacos. Fun and fairly inexpensive! We went after the lunch crowd and still there was a small line to get in. Thanks again for your suggestions!
