San Matteo, huh?

I was at San Mateo, last night, as mentioned in another thread, and was so prepared to love it. Numerous mentions on this board and some recent, positive publicity had me psyched. But what a disappointment! A meatball appetizer special was bubbling hot outside but cold inside (and $15, high I think given the place); white pizza with porcini and truffle oil was mushy and undercooked with literally a couple of stray tiny pieces of mushroom; panuzzo with sausage and broccoli rabe was ok but also cold inside. We didn't feel like sending everything back. I'm a huge fan of authentic, Italian style pizza (e.g., Keste and Little Luzzo), but this experience left me puzzled. Was it an off night? Are they overextended?
