San Francisco weekend

Hello chow nation! I am a long time visitor to this wonderful site and this is my first time asking all of your for some help. My wife and I are going to San Francisco at the end of April for a conference/mini-honeymoon and I need some help choosing some places for us to enjoy a few meals. I have been put in charge of dinner on Friday and Saturday and a lunch on Sunday so I am humbly asking for a few ideas. Just a few points to help narrow things down:
We are staying at the Westin off Market Street and I know based on our schedule we won't be able to stray too far from it. I was looking at a map and I figured using Rt. 101 where it meets i80 up to where Broadway crosses it and over to the Bay is a large enough area that there will be several options.
Our Friday dinner is more romantic and we love going to "road less traveled" places. We prefer finding up an coming chefs and restaurants more then the big box fancy places (Del Frisco, Ruth's Chris, etc..). We would love something more exotic vs standard issue (Indian, Thai, Middle Eastern vs. Italian or American)
Saturday is a group event so I'd just like a reccommedation for someplace with a varied menu (I have a few picky eaters) and a vibrant scene (we tend to get loud :-) ).
Lunch is pretty simply, I would love a place to get a good Banh Mi (sp?)
Other then that if any of you all have ideas about good places to go out for live music (prefer louder to softer) and maybe a great place for desserts?? All advice is so much appreciated!
