it's been a while since i've been to san diego. i think i remember most of the top places. is there anything opened within the last year or two that shouldn't be missed? been to laurel, 808, etc...i really like arterra in del mar but need something closer to old town. i've heard mixed things re: tapenade. what's the deal?
also of interest would be any great "easy on the wallet" corkage minded (the lower the better) places. Under $50 pp acceptable, under $40 pp better. something like pinot bistro in the san fernando valley (good food, free corkage) would be ideal.
