We had dinner there last night. We tried the steak and cheese, steak and potato, spicy potato, apple, and chicken and potato samosas. They were all good and flavourful. The salsa you get on the side seems spicy to me, and it builds up on me, but my husband assures me it's not. ;) He said that the spicy potato samosa approached being spicy. I guess I'm a total wuss. :)
The apple samosa was so-so. All the samosas were made in advance and held in a hot case. I'm sure they'd be better fried fresh, but they're still -very- good (at least to my inexperienced tongue, I just really like them). They also serve various curries (some vegetarian, some not), and you can get a meal plate that includes a rice/curry dish on the side. All the samosas are $3. They have a wide variety of options, and I was surprised (and a little worried) at how many people walked in, looked at the menu, then walked out.
Also, they're open 7 days a week, and on Friday and Saturday they're open until THREE A.M.! So if you have one of those late Friday night samosa emergencies, they gotcha covered. :)
I still feel that Skinny Pancake is the best overall deal in Montpelier right now (when you take into account price, portion size, ambiance, service, and fresh local ingredients) I'll certainly also be recommending Samosaman. It's on Main Street, right near Cool Jewels, where Subway used to be.
