"Salt: A World History"

"Salt: A World History," by Mark Kurlansky (who previously wrote a history of cod) is reviewed in this week's NY Times Book Review, and it sounds fascinating.

You have to register with the Times to read their web site, but it's free. Book reviews don't go into archive, and are always available free.
