Restaurants & Bars 1

Salisbury, MD

Thank you CH for directing us to one of the best dinners (2 nights) we have ever come across in a small town (we travel a lot). Cactus Taverna despite the name is not a Mexican restaurant. There is a Mex section on the menu we didn't try. We stuck to the list of specials (ecletic, Continental) that all sounded so good it was hard to chose...we were not disappointed. The service was informal but very professional, the owner came by, terrific wine list at very fair prices, complementary Port afterwards....all the hallmarks of a restaurant run by a very energetic owner who knows his business. This restaurant at its present prices would be in hit in the Wash DC area....I felt I got $75 meals for $30...I would be a regular! Finally, I have a need to watch my truck while dining, and the big windows and parking right in front makes this possible. When our meeting repeats in Salibury next year I will have to decide whether to keep this a secret or tell everyone about it...probably the letter as Cactus Taverna deserves all possible success (and hearing about their disappointments in searching for the mythic 'loca'l seafood is too sad to bear). Thanks again CH!
