Salade des Fruits

My husband, daughter and I dined here on Saturday for the first time. I had gotten the idea from a fellow chowhound who had rec'd it for an office lunch. We loved our meals. My husband and I shared the goat cheese salad: perfectly dressed greens topped with fresh baguette toasts with a spread of black olive tapenade and broiled chevre-we absolutely loved the flavor combination of tapenade and goat cheese. For entrees my daughter had the baked salmon sans lemon butter sauce (dairy allergy) with the best pommes frites I have ever had-she finished her fish and was eating the fries like no tomorrow. My husband had filet of beef that came with creamy buttery mashed potatoes and vegetables that were cooked perfectly and sitting in pools of butter-yum! My dish the halibut baked with chanterelles had the exact same veggies and mash and it went amazingly with the fish. I loved the chanterelle mushroom sauce on top. All of our meals were seasoned perfectly and arrived hot to the table. We also had desserts. My daughter the trio of sorbet, cassis, pear and mango-she loved it and again finished her plate. My husband had the chocolate ganache and I the lemon tart-both were fabulous with the americanos (which were also good) we ordered with dessert.
I thought the room was very cute and kind of romantic looking. I was expecting less as I had heard it described as a coffee shop with food from a friend but thought it was quite cozy for a fall evening. The service went well with the room, informal, straightforward yet friendly and prompt. It is cash only so we had to stop at the atm before. The bill was 134.37 inc tax but not tip. We thought it was excellent value for 1 starter, 3 entrees, 3 desserts, 4 glasses of wine (excellent with our food-I can't remember what it was called), and 2 americanos.
We will definitely be dining here again as a family or even for a romantic dinner for two.
