Sahib - Curry Hill: New and terrific Indian

A couple of months ago we wandered into Sahib for dinner, in Curry Hill. It was, we think, the first night it was open to the public (although its unclear if it really was open yet). I saw the chef Hemant Mathur in front of the restaurant and, recognizing him, started up a conversation, asking if the spot was open yet. We had seen it coming along. Long story short we went in and had a truly excellent meal. Since that time we have been back 3 or 4 times. And we have sent friends. Each time the food has been great. The biryani and other lamb dishes are excellent, ditto most everything else we had. The saag paneer too, along with another chicken curry dish. They are BYOB, with a wine store across the street. Service was good, the spot is comfortable. Sietsema recently gave Sahib four stars, link below, and that brought me back to the idea of posting about the spot. Ironically, at the same time, one of Hemant's other spots in the area, Kokum, practically next door, has now closed.
