Is it safe/advisable to microwave soup in Pyrex with the unvented lids?

Cassandra2 | May 6, 202107:23 PM     4

I use Pyrex glass containers for storing and microwaving soup, and I'd been using an old Pyrex vented lid with my 7 cup Pyrex round bowl, which came with an unvented lid. However, the old vented lid has started disintegrating, and a small bit of plastic fell into the soup I was microwaving yesterday! I was wondering whether it's safe/advisable to microwave soup in Pyrex with the unvented lids. Pyrex customer care said it would be fine, but it says here under care and use:
https://www.corelle.com/product/20-ou...

"• Always vent plastic lids on baking dishes and mugs when microwaving.”

thanks for any advice you may have! :)
