Found a new Korean restaurant tonight, think they've only been open a few days. Bud Namu Jip, 8979 Folsom Boulevard - that's just east of Watt Ave. Funny little strip center also containing a Philadelphia Cheese Steak restaurant and a liquor/cigar store.
It's hard to judge after just one dish, but I think this is a good place. I did have a hard time convincing the waitress that "Yes, I DO want spicy", but she was young and they've just opened. I was, in fact, the only caucasian in the place. Also had to be assertive to get as many side dishes as the Korean customers had. Not a good sign, but I think, again, it was because she didn't believe I actually wanted "spicy". The four extra side dishes she finally brought were all spicy.
Thought of Lisa as I ordered Soon Doo Boo Jigae -Silky bean curd stew. Very tasty but it only had 2 small shrimp and one clam along with lots of bean curd and other good stuff.
They have gas hot plates which they can set up on the tables if you order the seafood "steamboat", goat, cow and pig tripe or potato and pork stew. Lots (8) of barbeque entrees including river eel. Worth a trip back in and of itself.
No iced barley tea though, dang!
