A local ice cream shop in the Bay Area is selling Gunther's Ice Cream which I understand is a Sacramento ice cream parlor from the 1940's.
I guess the shop is rather 'colorful'. Link to a review below. Seems to get a lot of favorable mentions?
What do you people in Sacramento think?
I guess the original owner sold the place in 1969. It seems like it is on it's second owner since then. Couldn't find a web site.
I had some samples and settled on the black cherry. Seems very similar to Baskin Robbins. Sampled the white chocolate which was interesting. Tasted excactly like one of those white chocolate Easter bunnies you buy at Longs. The ice cream seemed overly sweet to me.
Is this an ice cream shop where the ambiance is more important than the flavor? Is it me or is it Gunther's?
