Sabatino's Derry NH review

Overall, we were underwhelmed. The restaurant is small, but feels a bit cramped with the amount of tables they had. It had been a hard day, so I ordered a cosmopolitan...and when the server poured it into my glass at the table, there was almost an inch between the liquid and the rim! Not really a great way to start the night.

The bread basket was a plain white bread, not dense at all. It would have made great toast, but I was expecting something more dense. However, the olive oil it was dipped in was nice. I ordered the chicken marsala with linguine; the chicken was moist, the mushrooms were done well, but the linguine was mush. The pasta was supposed to have some of the wine sauce & mushrooms on it, but I couldn't detect any sauce at all. All the noodles were sticking together so I only had 3 bites. My husband ordered a Fusilli and chicken dish with the red sauce, and said it was good, but not impressive. At this point another drink would have been welcomed since both of our glasses were empty, but our server never asked.

I was craving something sweet, so we went ahead and ordered dessert. Here, they earned some redemption. My cannoli was perfect; fresh & crispy shell with a smooth filling that was just the right amount of sweet. My husband had the chocolate tartuffo which he thoroughly enjoyed. Can't really comment about the quality because it was the first time either of us had tried one.

So, we definitely won't be back for dinner, but maybe dessert and coffee.
