Sa Rit Gol

Stan | Jun 19, 200405:15 PM

I went to Sa Rit Gol (3189 Olympic Blvd near Western, (213) 387-0909). It's very good, a rustic place with lots of wood and hand-painted signs on the wall. They have excellent panchan, about ten of them. The best was a custardy tofu pie that was the only tofu dish I have ever liked. I ordered a kimchee stew with pork and vegetables. It came bubbling furiously away in a stone bowl. If you've had kimchee stews at other places then this one is not in a class by itself, but it was good and spicy and had lots of interesting vegetables that I couldn't identify. The people are super nice. The kimchee stew, like much of the menu, was for two people, but they volunteered to make me a half-sized portion. Together with the panchan it was a ridiculous bargain for ten bucks.
