The only disappointment on our first visit to RX this past Friday night was realizing we missed out on dining here for the past year.
It's refreshing to find a place focused on fresh, seasonal ingredients and supporting local farmers. It's the White Dog approach, but executed IMHO much better.
The service was friendly and attentive, but in the right amounts. I noticed a comment in an earlier post about a blind date who turned away because of the ecletic decor. We thought it was charming - felt at home as soon as we walked in.
As for the food -
The four of us were boring and all had the Pave - beets, heirloom tomatoes and goat cheese. A little vinegary and the goat cheese made the salad quite rich.
Highlight of the entrees was the Flatiron steak (like buttah) w/ home fries (can't wait to go for brunch), homemade habanero ketchup and a fresh lima bean and corn side that added nice color to the plate and was tasty to boot.
We'll be back to RX soon, and often. Definitely one of our favorite spots in Philly now.
