Another wishy-washy deal when it came to RW...the wish: that we would love the Tap Room's chow. Now let's hang out the wash:
We were offered a choice of two salads to start- the fresh mozzarella, tomato, basil and Ceasar...they were out of the former, flavorless was the latter, lacking the requisite anchovy-ness.
Course number two: Appetizer choices ("but they are smaller portions than the USUAL appetizer portions" - declared our server)...we had the Buffalo wings - there weren't many and the REGULAR portion (for six bux) was a grand total of 7 "half" wings)...jeesh.
A large regular cheese pizza (to share) was offered for the main dish. Undistinguished as it appeared, we wanted to upgrade from this $12 item to the margarita pizza which had pesto, fresh mozzarella and other stuff for $16 on the regular menu - NO GOOD on the $20-4-2 RW deal...and because there were FOUR items extra on the margarita, there would have been an $8 upgrade charge. Fuzzy math!
What is the point, you ask?...it appears that RW, while supposedly allowing eateries to showcase themselves in a positive "Brooklyn"-kinda way, has its pitfalls. Please, if you're gonna be in it, make the customer feel special.
Oh by the way - the "SixPoint" craft IPA is (OMG!) dee-lish!
