Royal Bistro (HK style food), Milpitas report w/ pics

hhc | Feb 22, 2008 06:50 PM

We were the first one to eat at 11:10am and thought it was closed, but it was open. They don't turn on the heat so bring your jacket when dining here in the winter.

The menu has about 5 pages worth of stuff so it takes a bit of time to read and decide.

We got:

Sizzling platter w/ rice or spaghetti served w/ soup & garlic bread Plus choice of coffee or milk tea. P. had to get one of the most expensive dish since I was buying..Pork chop w/ black pepper sauce or garlic sauce. $10.95. He picked black pepper sauce. The waitress brought out the sizzling platter then poured the sauce over the sizzling meat.

The pork chop was juicy. Spaghetti is just plain boiled spaghetti noodle no sauce. he liked the garlic bread and he picked coffee which comes black w/ a small container of cream. He liked his free soup- like a tomato veggie soup.

I got:
chicken w/ tender greens chow fun $7.25. Not on the menu but just ask for it. It was ok, though I didn't care too much for the chicken..to boring and kinda dry, small cut up pieces. Too much green onions. I did like the chow fun noodles though.

I got a free soup w/ my meal - some kind of boring egg white soup w/ peas & tofu. Just ok.

I got a Hot HK milk tea for $2.5 and liked it fine.

$20.70 + $1.71 tax = $22.41 before tip.

Credit cards taken.

Tip: check outside menu before entering, prices seem lower that way.
