I used some eggs 18 days after the sell by date stamped on the side of the carton. By all appearances and smell, they seemed fine to me, and I used them to make scrambled eggs, which tasted fine. Seemed like an awful long while after the stamped sell by date though, and I thought surely they would be bad. I don't think I've used eggs that far after the stamped date. Question is, can you tell a rotten egg when you see one? How? Unlike milk, are eggs generally good far after the sell by date, like mine seemed to be?
